FACT: I have the world's most interesting people coming through the doors of Back in Action.

You all are so interesting, and I get to visit with you all day, that I thought it just wasn't quite fair. So I've decided to use my links page, which used to just have boring information like how to find the American Chiropractic Association, and put links to the web pages of people who come to this office, whose work I admire. Feel free to browse, and come back to it often, as it is just getting started. Most of all, let me know about your own website, so that I can add your link! I am quite happy if you want to create a link to my site, on your site, as well.

Art

Len Blau is a formalist photographer of strong architectural images that he takes out of the realm of normal reality by transposing positive for negative images, or color manipulation in the computer.

Books

Aurora Fox exemplifies the Berkeley adventurous spirited inidvidual committed to living life in the interesting lane: check out her rare book website and blog at: http://foxyartstudio.blogspot.com/

And don't forget about our berkeley brick and mortar treasure trove of books, run by Doris (Moe's daughter) www.Moesbooks.com

Barbara Quick is an author focusing on historical fiction. Her books are popular and translated into multiple languages. Her latest is Vivaldi's Virgins, about the girls who made up the orchestra in the orphanage where he was music master. www.barbaraquick.com

Inventors

One of the most interesting, creative, and dynamic people you will ever meet is Nick Bertoni who directs The Tinker's Workshop. He and his colleague Randall Fontes helped me create a far infrared light that speeds healing time and reduces pain. If anyone has the time and energy to take the prototype to market, some serious money could be made. We are all too busy, however.

Some of the dance companies whose members I adjust

Company C Contemporary Ballet Charles Anderson, formerly of the New York City Ballet leads what I think is the most dynamic contemporary ballet company in the Bay Area. Watch for them.

Project Bandaloop Click on their website and BE AMAZED

Mark Morris Dance Company

Alvin Ailey Dance Theater Gods and Goddesses of the Dance.

Home and Garden

The fastest business I ever saw take off was Blueridge Landscape Company, owned by Bluejay Feldman (nope, no relation). Blue is 100% business, 100% reliable, and can do the most beautiful things with dirt, rocks, water and wood that you could only begin to imagine.

Education

Molly Gale runs CLASSROOM MATTERS If you have a child K-12 challenged by learning issues, she has a group of compassionate, fun, and highly trained tutors who can help get your child over the hurdles they face, be they remedial or advanced placement. Unlike other tutorial centers, she focuses on how different brains process information, tailoring a program to fit each individual's needs. She uses traditional and non-traditional approaches to help the brain function. Some of the less traditional approaches are brain-gym exercises to coordinate left and right brain function, and aromatherapy formulas to help concentration and decrease anxiety.

Fitness

Kiran Haithcox is a Pilates practitioner who I have high trust in her capabilities to help people move with strength, grace and flexibility, even when they are injured or are dealing with fragile or complicated bodies. She is gentle, thoughtful, encouraging, and by the way, is also a fabulous aerial dancer and stilt walker. This is her website: Kiran Haithcox

OTHER FAVORITE SOURCES AND SUBJECTS, FROM BANAL TO MEDICALLY CONTROVERSIAL

First, the banal: My favorite shoe:GRAVITY DEFYER

If you have a fairly normal foot this shoe has invisible springs at the heel and gives you a shock-free and bouncing step that strengthens the foot and reduces fatigue. It is still not as natural as walking barefoot through the jungle, but on the plus side you don't have to worry about snakes and poisonous thorns, either. Basically, we are meant to walk barefoot, on uneven surfaces, delicately using our feet as a sensory organ, but that was another time, and for our concrete jungle, a shoe that makes the foot work thoroughly and absorbs shock is just a good idea. I don't recommend it for those with pain at the balls of their feet, or those with real pronation (flat feet) problems. For those issues, see me and we'll take a look at your feet on an individual basis.
